Sorry I was MIA yesterday but the past couple days have been a little boozy and busy and I had to take a day off. After two nights of too much drinking and not enough sleeping I’m feeling a bit crummy today. blech. It’s been fun but I’m actually looking forward to being nice and lame tonight and perhaps going to bed at 8 PM :O).
So let’s pick up where we left off! Our Christmas tree is just lovely. My roommate Nicole braved the monsoon-like weather we were having Wednesday night and found us the perfect little tree for our family room. I had to take off and meet a friend before the decorations went up but here we all are in front of the naked original.
And now, it looks all decorated and lovely :O).
Then yesterday happened, a work happy hour happened and here we are at Friday breakfast. One thing that is sure to get a sleepy girl out of bed:
Banana Oats :O).
- 1/3 cup each oats/soy milk/water
- splash of vanilla
- cinnamon
- tbsp. flax
- cacao nibs
- almond butter
Not ripe enough bananas make for a less than delicious bowl of oatmeal and sadly that’s what happened today. I don’t know why my bananas won’t ripen! I’ve had them sitting at home for like 4 days now. Does cold weather slow the process?
Annnyway, back to work for me. See you for a weekend full of lots of sleep and no more alcohol :O).

I’d have to say bananas definitely do take longer to ripen when it’s cool….mostly because they’re tropical I’d say.
I think if you put the bananas next to apples they will ripen quicker- something about the natural gas that apples emit- otherwise I’m insane and made it up!

the cold weather definitely slows down the ripping process. maybe put it closer to the heat?
