As promised, I’ll be filling in my Chicago trip as the next few days progress. 

New Year’s Day, Emily and I woke up HUNGRY!! The bar on NYE was meant to provide some lovely dinner food but that was kind of a lie due to the large number of people there.  So, when we woke up on Saturday we were ready for a hearty brunch!! My friend Diana who is a former Chicago resident had sent me an email with all the best places to eat in Chi town. I was so in love with one of her suggestions, Orange, because they offer adorable pancake flights! Four pancakes with various toppings under a specific theme. Being the pancake fan that I am I was just dying to try it for myself. 

However, when we arrived and I learned what the theme was I changed my mind. One of the pancakes was topped with orange sprinkles and orange jello foam which did not sound appealing to me. Such a shame. Instead, I ordered the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes -  Cinnamon-infused pancakes, served with maple-pecan paste, topped with sweet vanilla glaze and powdered sugar. 

 Two big pancakes with the maple pecan paste sandwiched inside. Oh the meltyness. Divine. 

 Emily went savory, so I’d like to share her selection for some range. 

Omelet #6: mixed with dry-aged jack cheese, topped with toasted almonds and a rich balsamic reduction. Stuffed with asparagus and forest mushrooms that are sautéed with garlic and marjoram (wild oregano). 

And we shared some orange rosemary sausages. 

Such a delicious suggestion! And conveniently right across from my brothers condo. We reaaally wanted to go back one more time before departing but Sunday morning was a bit of a rush to the airport unfortunately. 

Chicago brekkie = delicious.
