Aaaand we’re officially snowed-in
.
I have been determined to work-out this weekend, despite the weather. 1. Because I can’t sit still inside the house unless I’ve worked out some energy and 2. Because I’ve been so busy with other things during the week it seems like Fri/Sat/Sun are the best chance I get. And I have to make them count! Lucky for me, although the rest of the city has been shut down, for some reason my gym was still open both last night and this morning. So I’ve been strapping on my snow boots and forcing my way there. It’s kind of neat to see the city like this: not a single car on the road and the few people who are out are walking through the middle of the usually very busy streets. It feels kind of like the end of the world! Except I’m sure things will be back to themselves come Monday
.
Pre-gym I fiiiinally made one of Kath’s oatmeal pancakes, which I always mean to do but haven’t.

This is 1/3 cup of oats, 1 egg, 1/2 a mashed banana, cinnamon, vanilla and 1/2 a tsp. of baking soda. On top, I put the other half of my banana with some pb & j. Really yummy. My favorite thing about mashed banana in pancakes is it adds a kind of doughy density which I’m sure not everyone likes but I just adore.
It’s actually nice to be snowed-in in a way…I caught up on lost sleep with a nice 10 hours last night, have had some productive work-outs and now I’m going to snuggle down with some tea and try to knock out my food writing assignment for the week. It’s good to be forced into taking it easy sometimes, you know? We’ll see what kind of snowy excitement is in store after this evening - 4 roommates with blankets, wine and movies perhaps??
See you tomorrow (probably with a severe case of cabin fever!).

I love being snowed in….just as long as I don’t have plans, or need to be somewhere! I think all girls need a night in of eating junk, watching movies, drinking some wine and just having girl time….enjoy!
Glad you were able to get out for a little while – I love being snowed in. Catching up on sleep and things is a great way to spend some time (I always prefer it on weekdays though).
Hopefully you can get out some more tomorrow! Enjoy your evening!
I hate winter and snow…but I think the best thing about getting “snowed-in” is the coziness…and the excuse to be lazy! Hee!
sorry to hear that your snowed it :[ that storm seemed to be a killer one!!
good luck with everything & delicious pancakes
Good luck with the snow!!! Every once in a while it is fun…but I’m ready for all the snow to MELT!!

haha ahh stay warm!
Being snowed in isn’t so bad — especially since my mom just loves to cook and bake to stay busy. She made amazing beef stew and chocolate chip coffee cake, before the power went out on Saturday. All that homemade comfort food was so nice to come into after shoveling the looooong driveway with my dad
Nice looking dish. Here’s what I ate then http://desigrub.com/2010/02/pizza-food-of-an-indignant-in-a-snowstorm/
