Yesterday was in the 60′s and just too flipping gorgeous.
I needed to celebrate with a nice long walk at lunch time….and a frozen treat from DC’s new self-serve fro yo shop, which is dangerously close to my office
. I’ve never been to one of these places before – actually I’m not sure DC’s ever had one before – but after seeing them all over blog world I was pretty excited when I spotted this one! I saved the fun for a perfect sunny day and yesterday was exactly that.
Everyone in the store seriously looked like a kid in a candy shop. So many flavors, so many toppings…ohhh the possibilities. Don’t worry, I know what I like so the decision was not too hard!

A little swirl of peanut butter and a little swirl of cake batter topped with some crushed pb cup, Cap’n Crunch and 2 whoppers. Cool and creamy and perfect. Look how the swirls are kissing, they love each other so much. I was on a bit of a sunshiney sugar high after this, which reminded me of why Beth should not be allowed ice cream (fro yo) at lunch
.
After work I walked some more, about an hour down in Rock Creek Park and then came home to make supper.

A baked potato topped with sautéed garlic spinach, granola cheese, peach salsa, Fage and hot sauce. This dinner was fun and delish, I loved the little dance of sweet and spicy
.
Guess what came in the mail yesterday!?

My very own shipment of chia seeds! I have not tried them ever before so I was soooo excited when I won the giveaway at One Healthy Apple. Of course, they had to immediately be tested in some banana oats.

They did add a nice gel and crunch so two thumbs up from me. Good thing too, because I have 2 lbs. to get through! eek.
Sometimes I have so much to share and sometimes not very much at all. Since today is on the heavier side I’ll end things here
.

Here is Wisconsin, anything over 40 qualifies as “too flipping gorgeous”. People start wearing their shorts outside and riding their motorcycles. After a long winter, just about anything above freezing qualifies as beautiful!
I LOVE your china! Very pretty!
Also, you’re the winner for the Old Navy tank giveaway
Congrats! Shoot me an email with your color and size preference.
And I feel you on the fro yo places. I hit up the Sweetgreen mobile yesterday – perfect on a warm-ish afternoon!
Those fro yo places are springing up everywhere! I am a totally goon in there but have learned to control myself a bit!
Glad you are enjoying the seeds and thanks for the little plug
What is granola cheese? Never heart of it!
And we don’t have one of those yogurt places around here…bummer.
It’s from Trader Joe’s…cheddar cheese with granola and fruit inside. It is really unique and SO delish!
Ooo froyo on a gorgeous day sounds perfect! And I really love the plate for your dinner- so ornate.
I’m glad you like the chia seeds, I really want to buy some after all the good things I’ve heard about them.

woohooooo for the warm weather! I love froyo- my favorite dessert! Great job on dinner too. I love making stuffed potatoes for Josh and I- the topping combos are endless! I usually stick to some sloppy jane mix or black beans, broccoli and a hint of cheese & salsa- YUM! Have a good Thursday
Oh gosh…fro-yo is my new favorite food group!
