Oh hey!
Did you know what this week is?? RESTAURANT WEEK! DC holds a Restaurant Week twice a year and let’s be honest, they’re my two favorite weeks of the year
. A delicious 3-course lunch or dinner from any participating restaurant for $20.10 and $35.10 respectively. Compared to what you’d pay for 3 courses on a regular day it is quite good! So it’s the perfect opportunity to dive into some places that are not usually so affordable.
This time around I have three plans to enjoy the week’s hot deals:
- Today’s Lunch – Bibiana with my work friendies
- Tomorrow’s Supper – PS 7′s with my roomies
- Sunday’s Supper – Acadiana with my high school friend Jackie
Let’s talk about today. I’ve been to Bibiana twice before and it really is delicious. So I never mind the opportunity to go back!

PRIMI: Suppli al Telefono – Rice Fritter, with Peas, Ham, Mozzarella. Tomato Sauce
This was my fave of the day. Once I broke into that yummy little ball, it was filled with warm rice, gooey cheese, ham and peas. The cheese and sauce were kept to a minimum, allowing all the different flavors to shine through. Often Italian food is so heavy on the cheese and sauce that’s all you can taste! This was gorgeous.

SECONDI: Agnolotti - Sheeps Milk Ricotta Filled Agnolotti, Marjoram, Lemon, Spinach
This was also delish, although the lemon was a touch strong for my taste. I think the flavor may have come from the zest? It was quite potent.

DOLCI: Zuppa Inglese – Peach Soaked Cake, Peach Pastry Cream, Macerated Fresh Peaches, Caramelized Meringue
I liked the caramelized meringue the best – tasted like a toasted marshmallow!
So there you have it. Bibiana is consistently good and this meal was no exception. Certainly makes for a nice break in the work day!

i love restaurant weeks! the dessert looks insane!
I came across restaurant week at lunch today too! It was a complete surprise, since I didn’t know they offered it at lunch. I got the most amazing fig, caramelized onion and arugula pizza. I think I’m starting to like this city.
DC restaurant week is the best! I’ve always wanted to try Bibiana! I need to convince my hubby to take me
Ah restaurant week! Chicago has them, too. ANd I never realize they’re happening until the week of… I should really plan better… lol

aw, I’d love to but I feel like 3 is as much as my waistline and wallet can take! we should totally plan something for next week though, if you like

You always have the best eats girl! Cheese is always my main complaint when I go out for Italian. Most of the time my meal is swimming in it. So nice to see a place that doesn’t do that.
