As my camera memory is currently FULL after this weekend, I think it’s time to get picture posting quick!
Friday afternoon, Anna and I took Rich and Nick sightseeing before our evening plans. It was the most perfect sunny day!

We walked and walked and walked all afternoon, then headed over to Marvin for our dinner plans. Everyone was a little more than ready for a cocktail by that point!

Both the boys and I ordered the “Salt and Peppa” which was a martini made of pepper-infused gin and grapefruit juice, rimmed with pink Himalayan salt. I thought it was WONDERFUL, but I think they were expecting something slightly more masculine
.

We started with an order of moules frites but sadly the pics came out terrible. Trust that they were yummy. They came with a trio of dips, including a curry mayonnaise that was to. die. for.
For our main meals, Rich and Nick got the pork:

I tried a bite and it was phenom. Fall-off-the-bone tender.
And Anna and I the halibut:

The fish was perfectly cooked and was laying on a bed of deliciousness, including my fave: chanterelle mushrooms. Swoon!
We also enjoyed a delish bottle of Cotes du Rhone wine with our supper.

Group shot!

Overall, a fantastic meal. The food was gorgeous and the service was really good. I’m a big fan
.
And then it was party time! Louisa and Grant joined us and we all headed to Bar Pilar for drinks drinks drinks.

Rooooomies!
When we woke up on Saturday morning afternoon, our apartment was a total disaster zone, including our brand new couch (and houseguest) covered in chocolate. Eek!
But we just had to press on, for Saturday night was the housewarming party. After a good breakfast, Anna and I cooked up all of the evening’s dishes while the others ran party-related errands. One thing I will say for Southern cooking is it is a good way to make lots of food in a big hurry!

What we have here is: cowboy caviar, crab dip, tomato pie, Low Country cookies, pimento cheese and stuffed mushrooms. That’s a whole lot of cheese, butter and mayo
.
This is terrible, but I have no party pics to share with you. All thoughts of picture taking must have left my mind! Bad blogger.
So there’s my weekend my friends. It was an intense one! Looking forward to a bit of Monday normalcy now
