Oh hey! Happy Sunday. I’m just cooking up a storm over here in preparation for all the recipes I’ll share with you in the week ahead. But since I’m in need of a bit of a break I thought it’d be a nice time to sit down and blog away.
So yesterday! I was in the mood for a low-key evening last night after Thursday and Friday, so a casual barbeque dinner sounded just fab to me. Especially since I’m on a quest as of late to get into good BBQ. Louisa’s boyfriend Grant’s friend Josh (got that?) has said great things about Urban Barbeque and so that’s just where we went.
I really loved the atmosphere. It’s very friendly, no-frills, order off a chalk board at the counter – which for BBQ, is probably a good sign! I was especially excited to see keg rootbeer. How fun is that?
I had a pulled pork platter for dinner – pulled pork and homemade cornbread with a side of mac and cheese.
And a taste of all the sauces.
The highlight of the meal was most definitely the cornbread – still warm from the oven! It was soft and crumbly with real kernels of corn baked right in. Love that. The rest was also quite delish, although I don’t think it tops Black Hog from the other week. Hard to beat!
And there we have Saturday’s supper. You may notice a real lack of vegetables but I promise I’m going to make it up to you in a big way, for tomorrow is the start of my blogging for the Salad as a Meal cook-book challenge! I’ll see you then my friends. I’m off to dinner with my lovely friend Cody tonight. He’s in town from Cleveland for the weekend and I just can’t wait to see him! Enjoy the rest of this sunshiny weekend

I really miss good southern barbeque. I need to try to make it at home since I wont be finding it anywhere near here.
